The fall in world food prices hit a record high
🔹 The latest report from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) shows that global food prices have fallen the most since 2015 due to a sharp drop in demand due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and falling oil prices.
The FAO's food price index, which examines monthly changes in the basket of cereals, oilseeds, dairy products, meat and sugar, reached 172.2 in March, down 4.3 from February.
